Compliance & Animal Welfare Policy
Introduction
Global Livestock Logistics is committed to responsible and humane live animal transport. We integrate welfare and regulatory compliance into planning, transport execution, and delivery coordination for shipments by air and sea.
Compliance Framework
Live animal transport is regulated. Our planning is aligned with international and national requirements including IATA Live Animals Regulations (LAR), WOAH animal welfare standards, and applicable veterinary and biosecurity regulations in origin, transit, and destination jurisdictions.
Welfare-Focused Planning
Animal welfare considerations guide route selection, transport mode selection, scheduling, handling procedures, and contingency planning. We encourage species-specific planning that considers journey duration, climate, ventilation, feed and water needs, and stress mitigation.
Carrier and Handling Standards
We coordinate with carriers and handlers that maintain appropriate capabilities for live animal movement. Carrier acceptance remains subject to their operational conditions and regulatory requirements.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for ensuring animals are fit for transport and meet required health conditions. Where clients provide crates or handling equipment, these must meet applicable standards and be approved where required.
Continuous Improvement
We review operational outcomes and feedback where possible to improve planning and coordination for future shipments.
